SWK Stadtwerke Krefeld AG relies on FASTCOM's SMACS solutions for the security of its existing datacenter in Krefeld

  • SWK needs to optimize access security for its existing datacenter. The architectural specificities must be taken into account.

  • With SMACS solutions, the flow of people along with their hand luggage is automatically secured in the SWK datacenter.

  • FASTCOM's SMACS solutions guarantee a high level of security and offer flexibility for daily use.

Lausanne, Switzerland – 21 December 2022

FASTCOM Technology SA announces the completion of the datacenter project with SWK Stadtwerke Krefeld AG, Germany. In the existing infrastructure, SWK has implemented the SMACS Flex solution in their datacenter in a 2-door mantrap with hand luggage area. The SMACS Flex solution simultaneously secures the flow of people and hand luggage for optimal security.

The challenge: SWK must ensure a high level of access control security for its datacenter. In particular, it must be ensured that users can only enter alone, with their respective hand luggage (e.g. a tool case). This control must take place automatically. In addition, the mantrap must be intuitive to use and optimally adapted to the architecture and infrastructure of the building. Adjustments to subsequent changes of use should remain possible.

The solution: The SMACS Flex solution with the option "Integrated Hand Baggage Control" is the solution that meets the required specifications. Integrated into a comfortable mantrap of 1.5 meters in length and 1.85 meters in width, the SMACS Flex secures the flows of passengers and hand luggage simultaneously. Special modes, including emergency exit mode and specific passage processes, are available. Other modes can be implemented.
