Based on 10 years of positive experience, IDEMIA secures again its payment
cards production facility in Japan with the SMACS solutions of FASTCOM

FASTCOM Technology SA announces the completion of the project with IDEMIA Japan for its new payment card production facility. The facility has to implement the PCI-CPP security standards, for which SMACS solutions are very well suited. Various sites of IDEMIA around the world have been equipped with SMACS solutions for many years. Based on the positive experience, IDEMIA Japan has equipped its production facility with a SMACS Flex.

The challenge: IDEMIA is opening a new facility for payment card production in Japan. To comply with the required security standards, IDEMIA needs implementing a mantrap. Only authorized persons shall indeed have access to the production zones and the flow of material shall be controlled. IDEMIA also wishes to have the flexibility to adapt the control processes to special situations. For example, it must be possible, if needed, to fully open the mantrap or to use the mantrap in a simple mantrap mode.

 

The solution: In various production sites around the world and for more than 10 years, IDEMIA has been using the SMACS solutions for mantrap control. The SMACS allow being compliant with the required security standards, while allowing for adaptation to special situations. Due to the positive experience of using them in various other sites, IDEMIA has once again opted for the SMACS solutions of FASTCOM.
